Project Spotlight: Waylon Priester
Sweet P General
Waylon and his wife both started their careers as agricultural teachers, and decided to start their own business in Anderson, SC - Sweet P General. In 2018 Waylon became a Merchney customer and the one-on-one experience that Merchney offers has blossomed the customer relationship into friendship. Sweet P General started out in 2018 with a 30’ x 96’ Freestanding Quonset and a 26’ x 108’ Pinnacle Greenhouse.
Year after year their customer base has grown with customers coming from all around the Anderson area, Greenville, SC, Seneca, SC, Hartwell, GA, Lavonia, GA and more. In 2023 Sweet P General decided to expand by adding two – 26 x 108 Pinnacle Add-ons to previous Pinnacle, two – 26’ x 60’ Pinnacles to propagate, and a 30’ x 40’ Flat Shade Structure.
This expansion has tripled Sweet P General’s revenue. This has not only impacted their business but their family as well. Waylon and his wife originally started the business to have more time to spend with family, and quickly realized that family time would be spent in greenhouses. Waylon had some positive things to say about Merchney and running a family business that we want you all to know below.
“Without the support Merchney, we wouldn't be who we are and we couldn't do what we do! Merchney is a great company with great people, and we’ve really enjoyed that partnership that we’ve formed.” - Waylon Priester
“We're both agriculture folks at heart, so this is something that we enjoy, and our girls enjoy it.” - Waylon Priester
“When we started we were both teaching agriculture, and because of the growth of the greenhouse business we are now self-sufficient and self-employed.” - Waylon Priester
